Santa Cruz Kids in Nature
Summer Camps
WEEK 4 : JUNE 29-JULY 3
Theme 1: Bug Safari - The Secret World of Tiny Creatures All Around Us (NEW!)
In this camp, students will learn about the magical and minuscule world of bugs. Imagine shrinking down to the size of an ant and seeing life from their eyes! Bugs are a vital part of our ecosystems and have unique adaptations to help them survive. Did you know that butterflies can taste with their feet, or that ants actually farm fungus in their nests to feed the colony? We will spend our time together going on bug safaris, learning how to identify local bugs and learn about the fascinating lives they live, work on creative projects, and more!
Theme 2: Use Your Outside Voice!: Improv, Storytelling and More in The Forest! (NEW!)
Come play, imagine, and make things up together! In this improv-theatre–based camp, kids will explore silly games, storytelling, character creation, and spontaneous scenes—learning how to listen, respond, and build ideas as a group. Activities draw inspiration from nature, movement, and shared adventures, with lots of laughter and outdoor play woven in. No acting or music experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play and laugh your tail off.
